There are various types of silk, some of which are not suitable for washing, such as mixed satin brocade, tapestry satin, Suzhou brocade, tianxiang taffeta faconne, Jinxiang crape, pleuche and so on; while some of which are suitable for dry cleaning, such as Anti-Pilling Polar Fleece, velvet, georgette and so on. Some silk could be washed in water, but you have to use neutral soap or high quality soap and synthetic detergent. Firstly, melt the soap in hot water. Secondly, soak the clothes in the water when it is cold. Thirdly, wash the clothes lightly. Finally, wash the clothes with clean water and press the clothes with hands lightly.
Mulberry silk is not sunshine tolerant, so you should expose the clothes in the air and inside out. Iron it in middle temperature when the clothes is dry at 80%, so as to keep the clothes luster and durative. Don’t spray water on the clothes when ironing and don’t iron directly on the outer side of clothes to avoid water stains. The clothes would be more shining and bright if you add some vinegar to the water when washing it. |
